What is a barcode?

An EAN13 barcode is a unique number that is assigned to a product which allows retailers of your product to keep a record, track their stock, and analyze sales of your product.

Do I need a barcode?

If you are looking to sell your product within stores, a unique and internationally recognized EAN13 barcode is required. Your retailers will need your product to have a barcode so that they can manage the products pricing, quantity of sales, and track their inventory.

How many barcodes should I get?

Each product that you are selling, whether it be completely unique or a variation of an existing product will need it's own unique barcode to meet the requirements of retailers. For example you may be selling clothing which comes in different sizes and colors - each different variation will need it's own barcode.

Are your barcodes suitable for retail?

All barcodes that we provide are guaranteed to be accepted by any retail outlet within Australia, and throughout the world. However it is recommended that you get in touch with the retailers you intend to supply to and enquire about their barcode policies before making a purchase here at BuyBarcodes.

Are your barcodes suitable for my products on Amazon?

Yes, our barcodes are Amazon ready. This means that you can use them for any products you wish to sell on Amazon.

Do your barcodes work in every shop?

The barcodes that we provide are guaranteed to work in any retail outlet across Australia and also globally as the vast majority of retailers use EAN13 barcodes to identify their products. However we do recommend that you enquire with the retailers you intend to supply to about their barcode policies before making a purchase here at BuyBarcodes.

Will my barcodes have a company prefix?

Yes, your barcodes will have a unique company prefix assigned to them. By having an account at BuyBarcodes, you are assigned your own unique company prefix to be used across any barcodes that you purchase.

Will my barcodes start with 93, the correct Australian barcodes prefix?

Yes, your barcodes will start with the numbers 93. While a country prefix is not required on your barcodes, we do provide the Australian prefix for all our barcodes issued by default. If you would like your country prefix to be different, just let us know and we will happily modify the country prefix for any barcodes you purchase.

Will I be provided with a certificate of ownership for my barcodes?

Yes, we will provide you with a Certificate of Issuance for each barcodes package you purchase from us. This certificate certifies that your numbers have been assigned to your company, and that they are owned by you.

Will my barcodes work worldwide?

It is guaranteed that any barcodes sold by us, are suitable for use with any retailer world-wide given that they use EAN13 barcodes to identify and track their products. However it is recommended that you check with the retailers you intend to supply to about their barcode policies before making a purchase with us.

Will the barcode numbers I purchase be unique?

Yes, you will be assigned 100% unique barcodes with your own unique company prefix. Each barcode contains it's own unique identification numbers which once assigned, will never be used again - ensuring that all barcodes supplied by us are guaranteed to be unique.

Will my barcodes ever expire?

No, your barcodes will never expire. Once you have purchased and have been assigned your barcodes, they belong to you and your product for a life-time period.

What do I do once I have downloaded my barcodes?

The next step once having downloaded your barcodes is to get them onto your products or your products packaging. You will need to supply your downloaded barcodes to whoever is creating your packaging for you (perhaps a graphic designer which you have hired). This person/company will then need to put your barcodes onto your packaging for you - and you are ready to go.
